The Third Joke

The Third Joke

recommendations:

  • music - been diving into some indian jazz like Kolkata stories by Bishu Chattopadhyay. the strokes(the whole including the voidz, julian singles), daft punk too and ofc not forgetting to consume my daily rap intake.
  • books - not reading much lately but De Profundis, Projections and Hyperion are totally on my to read list which i’m going to finish this month.

While I’m not quite over the whole ‘meow zedong’ meme craze and instagram warning everyone that my account is compromised and I am a scammer in disguise(something to ponder upon), here I am again—banging on my keyboard just because the clackety-clack is oddly satisfying while I wait for Conda to finish installing in the background. So, yeah, the birthday was lit. winters? Even better. Got to visit six different states and, of course, drink unlimited beer. InterIIT? didn’t quite go as expected, but I’m still proud of the whole contingent, especially my kids. it was fun. frustrating at times, sure, but totally worth it. Maybe I should write another blog entirely about that trip and vacation. Could be fun.

literature

i wanted to get into literature after the tech meet, so i started reading books again but this time no sci-fi, no biographies or anything only literature, so i read ‘A thousand splendid suns’ by Khaled Hosseini and i honestly liked it very much, it is a compelling but a heart-wrenching story of two women, both with distinct family background and about a generation apart, who were brought together under the same household through the tragic sweep of war. it is a story set between the period around the 1960s to 2000s in afghanistan; a period during the invasion by the soviet union and the rise of the dreadful taliban and i’d happily recommend this book to everyone.

Coffee

everyone knows i adore good coffee

but this is not about coffee(would turn into a coffee blog in future maybe)

starting today you’ll hear my adventures not on a regular basis but yea i’ll rant once in a while, maybe this blog will die, who knows. writing this markdown in vim (now admit that i’m cool) and the theme somewhat resembles a terminal. istg i tried manipulating the css and i’ll not edit it further like it or not, i first wanted it to be a simple html page, but imposter syndrome kicked in(not gonna elaborate)
